This module aims to achieve a conceptual and comprehensive understanding of strategy road map creation using core contemporary methodologies to make relevant proposals for business progression.

The programme content has been designed specifically for people working in non-financial roles. This programme is not strictly for managers. Any employee whose role involves financial responsibilities or input into financial processes/reviews would benefit from understanding the key financial concepts covered in this course. This course can be adapted to suit all levels, roles and needs.

The functions and objectives of industrial relations revolve around promoting effective communication, maintaining harmonious workplace relationships, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees, resolving conflicts and disputes, safeguarding workers’ rights and interests, enhancing productivity and organizational performance, and contributing to social and economic development.

The HRM (Human Resource Management) approach to employee relations focuses on fostering positive and mutually beneficial relationships between employees and the organization. It emphasizes open communication, employee engagement, teamwork, conflict resolution, and the promotion of a supportive work environment. This approach aims to create a win-win situation where both the employees and the organization benefit from productive and harmonious employee relations.

The role of the HR (Human Resources) function in employee relations is to facilitate and manage the relationship between the organization and its employees. HR professionals play a crucial role in implementing policies and practices that promote fair treatment, employee engagement, and effective communication.

The elements of employee relations include communication, engagement, conflict resolution, performance management, and employee rights. These aspects contribute to a positive work environment, effective problem-solving, and the protection of employee rights, leading to improved productivity and organizational success.

Employee relations processes involve essential activities such as communication, grievance handling, discipline, bargaining, and feedback. They are designed to maintain positive relationships, address concerns, resolve conflicts, and enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.

Trade unions play a vital role in employee relations by representing and advocating for the rights and interests of workers. Trade unions also engage in collective bargaining, provide support and guidance to workers, and contribute to shaping labor policies and legislation.
